Lean In

Lean in.

This pain has much to say.

Press your ear close

to your broken, beating heart.

There is truth there

that is only discovered

in the breaking,

in the remaking.

And after all, it is not

your heart being broken

but only these prison bars

you’ve locked it behind

all these years.

The prison door is open now;

release your grip on the bars.

Let the door break loose,

and step out.
